Project Description

ACIN grew out of a 2009 Australian Bureau of Statistics hosted a National Community Indicators Summit and the commitment of state departments, non-government agencies and local government peak bodies to: “Establish a national network of community indicator users and practitioners, aimed to link community, government and research sectors, share information and best practice, develop coordinated action and raise awareness of community indicators.” ACIN's role is: •An information source: the network would disseminate and provide access to data, frameworks and projects. •Providing professional development: training courses and publications. •Networking, mentoring and support opportunities: via forums, meetings and professional development events. •Advocacy role: progressing the movement for community indicators within government, business and community circles
