Project Description

The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue created by voter referendum in 2002 to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County by making strategic investments in their future. The Trust’s community indicators work revolves around four results that the community seeks for all its children: (1) children are healthy physically and emotionally; (2) children are supported by safe, nurturing families and communities; (3) children are ready to succeed when entering school; and (4) children are succeeding in school and society. Child health and well-being trends and comparisons are available via several formats: KidStats and Maps is an interactive mapping website with 90 indicators, Miami-Dade Community Indicators of Child Well-Being is a 2008 publication highlighting selected indicators; and Results-based Strategic Plan for Investments, 2011-2015 is a 2010 document identifying and trending the headline community indicators used to measure progress toward achieving The Trust’s four results. Using a results-based accountability framework, The Trust ensures its funded programs and services are aligned and contribute to results at the community level.
